Responding to the baptismal call to holiness in family, church and society, the Community ministries will provide resources, guidance and support that will deepen the spiritual and social needs of all parishioners and raise the awareness to live the gift and choice of faith through active membership in the church.
Altar Servers
We are happy that the parish has such wonderful and dedicated altar servers. Our young people engage in service to the parish through this vital ministry. Once a child receives his First Holy Communion, he or she can volunteer to serve at the altar. Those involved are drawn into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus. The particular duties of altar servers include the preparing the altar for the Eucharist and filling the roles of cross-bearer, candle-bearers and thurifer (one who carries the incense). This ministry continues through a person's high school years. If you would like more information or would like to have someone included in this Ministry
please contact Fr. Krys pastor@stadalbert.us or Deacon Philip rejrat@stadalbert.us.
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion
Individuals of strong religious beliefs are prepared for this ministry and mandated by the archbishop to serve in a specific
parish. Our extraordinary ministers distribute the Eucharist and Precious Blood during Mass, take the Eucharist to sick people in the hospital, to the elderly, or disabled in their homes or in convalescent homes. We ask people to be available on weekends. This rewarding ministry helps people pray together and reach out to Jesus. The ministry of Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is a fulfilling one for parishioners who wish to serve their community. It makes a few demands on your time beyond a planned attendance at Mass. Training is provide d at the Parish and requires attendance at a one day training course at the Archdiocesan Center. Contact Drew Swider liturgy@stadalbert.us or Deacon Phil Rejrat rejrat@stadalbert.us.
Ministry to the Sick and Home Bound
The Ministry of the Sick and Home Bound serves the sick in two ways. First, all sick and home bound parishioners are included in the daily prayers of the priests and deacons of our parish. Secondly, those who wish to be are included in the Home visitation program. It is the visitation program the serves Christ’s himself by nourishing those in poor health with the Holy Eucharist during their illness.
The priests visit the sick at home on First Fridays to distribute the Holy Eucharist and give the sick and home bound the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Deacon Philip and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, make monthly, bi-monthly and weekly visits to sick and home bound parishioners, at home, in nursing homes, hospice centers and the hospitals.
If you would like more information or would like to have someone included in this Ministry
please contact Deacon Philip on 908-352-2971 ext. 31 or please write to rejrat@stadalbert.us.
Lectors
Proclaiming the Word of God to the assembled faith community is the primary role of the lector. Prayerful preparation enables the individual to stand before the assembly and bring the word to life.
Our lectors are commissioned to proclaim the Liturgy of the Word at Mass on Sunday and on special occasions. Training sessions are provided at the Parish as well as at the Archdiocesan Center.Contact Drew Swider liturgy@stadalbert.us or Deacon Phil Rejrat rejrat@stadalbert.us
Music Ministry
Adult Choir- St. Cecilia (Picture)
Shortly after the founding of St. Adalbert’s Parish on May 15, 1905, the need for a church choir became apparent. Through the efforts of its founder, the Rev. Msgr. Vitus A. Masnicki, P. A., a mixed adult choir was organized. This group chose as their patron, St. Cecilia, the patron of musicians and singers.
At the present time, the adult choir sings at the 10:45 AM (Polish) Mass each Sunday (from mid-September through mid-June) and at other special Liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings 7:30 – 9:00 PM in the choir loft.

Marczewski, to purchase Hand Bells for St. A’s.
The Hand Bell Choir plays major holidays and at major celebrations.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings 7:30 – 9:30 PM in the Parish Center building.

Ushers
Welcoming people as they gather for worship, ushers lead the hospitality ministry. They take up the collection, regulate the flow of people to communion, distribute materials as people depart from the Church. This ministry is a wonderful way to participate and to get to know the parishioners at the Mass.
